Cali (Colombia): Indian triple jumper Selva P. Thirumaran bettered his personal best by winning a silver medal at the World Under-20 Athletics meet.
17-year-old Thirumaran 16.15 m. He flew far and achieved silver. 2 cm more than them. Viktor Morozov of Estonia won the bronze in the short jump. Jadran Hibbert of Jamaica 17.27m. He flew far and won the gold. This is a championship record. Thirumaran won silver in his second attempt.
Indian Women’s 4x400m Team Finals in relay competition. The team comprising of Sammy, Priya Mohan, Rajita Kunja and Rupaul finished fourth in the third heat in 3:34.18s to reach the final.
