West Indies vs India 4th T20I : India win series over West Indies; Defeated by 59 runs IV News

Florida; Leaders Online: India won the T20 series by defeating West Indies by 59 runs in the 4th T20I match. Chasing the 192 runs set by India, the West Indies team was reduced to 132 runs. India’s bowlers took sacrifices at a certain distance and finally wrapped up West Indies’ innings for 132 runs. The West Indies batsmen continued to run at a good pace. But, they awarded wickets to the Indian bowlers in the sound of big hits. The West Indies players were trapped first by the fast bowlers and then by the spinners and the team was bowled out for 132 runs.

The West Indies openers got off to a good start but India’s Avesh Khan dismissed Braden King for 13 on the team’s score of 18 to get India their first wicket. Braden King scored 13 runs off 8 balls. Immediately after that, Avesh Khan dismissed new batsman Thomas by forcing him to take a catch to Deepak Hooda. Thomas was dismissed for just 1 run. Thus, India gave two big blows to the West Indies team in the fourth over. The next captain, Nicholas Pooran, decided to take notice of the Indian bowling. He hit spinner Axar Patel for three sixes and a four in one over. But, unfortunately he was run out and lost his wicket. Puran scored 24 runs in just 8 balls.

After being dismissed, Akshar Patel caught Kyle Mears. Mears contributed 14 runs off 16 balls. Roman Powell struck for some time after this. He also hit Akshar for two towering sixes in one over. But he was caught by Deepak Hooda off Akshar’s bowling in the spirit of playing big shots. Powell scored 24 runs off 16 balls. After this, veteran Jason Holder hit Ravi Bishnoi for a four and a six in one over. But, he too was caught by Sanju Samson off the bowling of fast bowler Arshdeep Singh in a bid to play a big hit. Holder scored 13 runs in 9 balls.

After this, Akil Hussain was dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi forcing him to take a catch to Suryakumar Yadav. Hussain scored 3 runs. After this Shemron Hetmyer tried to play some big shots. He was somewhat successful but was bowled by Ravi Bishnoi. Hetmyer scored 19 runs off 19 balls. Arshdeep then dismissed Dominic Drakes and Makoyla to end West Indies’ innings on 132 runs.

The Indian bowlers bowled at a very accurate pace throughout the match. Initially, fast bowler Avesh Khan started to push West Indies by taking two wickets. Avesh Khan conceded 17 runs in 4 overs. After that, spinner Akshar Patel proved to be a bit expensive but managed to pick up two crucial wickets. He conceded 48 runs in his 4 overs. Another spinner Ravi Bishnoi also bowled well. He also took 2 wickets for 27 runs. Fast bowler Arshdeep also bowled accurately and became the most successful bowler of the match by taking 3 wickets. Earlier, India set up a challenge of 180 runs for 5 wickets against West Indies in the fourth T20 match. India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first in the match which started late due to dew on the field. In the beginning, openers Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar started hitting immediately. He took India’s score to 39 in the first three overs. Then in the fifth over, Rohit Sharma was bowled for 53 runs. He hit spinner Aqeel Hussain for a first six and was bowled on the next ball. Rohit hit 33 runs in just 16 balls. In this he hit 2 fours and 3 sixes. Rohit was followed by Suryakumar also dismissed in the sixth over. He scored 24 runs off 14 balls. He was replaced by Alzari Joseph. Surya also hit 1 four and 2 sixes. After both the openers returned to the tent, the new players Rishabh Pant and Deepak Hooda entered the field.

Deepak Hooda and Rishabh saved India’s innings. He kept the pace steady and even added runs. This pair settled in the field and India reached the hundred mark. But finally in the twelfth over, when India was 108 for 2, Deepak Hooda caught Bradham King off the bowling of Alzari Joseph and was dismissed for 21 runs. He faced 21 balls. Rishabh Pant settled in the field and hit all round. He also looked in good spirits. He played responsibly alongside Sanju Samson and added value to India’s tally. In the fifteenth over, Obed Makoy was caught and dismissed. Rishabh scored an important knock of 44 runs off 31 balls. He hit 6 boundaries in this innings. After Rishabh Pant was dismissed, Dinesh Karthik entered the field but did not have much success. He returned to the tent after scoring just 6 runs. In the 19th over, he fell prey to McCoy in the midst of a big hit.

Sanju Samson and Akshar Patel batted well in the last two overs. Akshar Patel hit two huge sixes. Due to the innings of these two, India could reach 191 runs. Sanju Samson remained unbeaten with 30 runs off 23 balls. He hit 1 six and 2 fours in this innings. Akshar Patel scored 20 runs in just 8 balls. He hit 1 four and 2 sixes.

Obed McCoy managed to get two wickets from the West Indies, but he was well beaten by the Indian batsmen. He gave as many as 66 runs in 4 overs. Joseph Alzari managed to take two wickets with 31 runs in four overs. While Jason Holder and Dominic Drakes failed to get wickets. Also spinner Aqeel Hussain got the only big wicket in the form of Rohit.
