Nitish is likely to make a clear announcement after tomorrow’s meeting.
The Janata Dal United (JDU) led by Patna Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and the BJP in the central government have not been in harmony for years. The Bihar CM was absent from the NITI Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday. With that, the speculations that the JDU is splitting from the NDA added fuel. Union Home Minister Amit Shah called Nitish Kumar to attend the NITI Aayog meeting but he stayed away. There is no official word on the reasons behind Nitish’s absence.
There is already a campaign going on in Bihar that the JDU-BJP alliance is breaking up. As many JDU MLAs are averse to by-elections, political circles say that the party is looking for an alliance with RJD, Congress and Left parties to retain power in the state.
Amid such political turmoil in Bihar, Nitish Kumar held a key meeting in Patna on Tuesday. It seems that all party MPs and MLAs have been called for this meeting. After this meeting, everyone is hoping that the Bihar CM will make a key announcement on the issue of withdrawing from the NDA.
On the other hand, JDU national president Lalan Singh denied the news of differences with BJP. He made it clear that everything is fine with the ally BJP. RJD MPs and MLAs have been asked to come to Patna for the important meeting on Tuesday. Meanwhile, another ally of NDA, Hindustani Awam Morcha, led by former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi, also organized a meeting with all its MLAs on Tuesday.
