Two people of the Sikh community were shot dead in the Sarband area of ​​Peshawar.

According to the police, the firing incident took place in Bata Tal Bazar of Sarband police station area. The attackers managed to escape from the spot.

The victims have been identified as 42-year-old Suljit Singh and 38-year-old Ranjit Singh. He had a spice shop in the market.

The bodies have been sent to the hospital for postmortem. Police have cordoned off the area and collected evidence from the spot.

A search operation is also being conducted to arrest the killers.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has taken cognizance of the attack and sought a report from the KP Inspector General of Police.

He has ordered the police to take quick action to arrest the killers.

In September 2021, a traditional Sikh doctor was shot dead near the Charsadda bus stand in Peshawar. 45-year-old Satnam Singh was attacked at his clinic in Remitte of Fakirabad police station here.

The terrorist group Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for the killing.
