Two-day remand of Fawad Chaudhry approved for threat to Election Commission – Pakistan IV News

An Islamabad court approved 2-day physical custody of Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry in a case of threatening the Election Commission.

Chief Minister Naveed Khan handed over PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry to police for 2 days of physical custody while pronouncing a safe sentence. The court ordered Fawad Chaudhry to appear again on January 27.

The police sought an 8-day remand in the district court, but Fawad Chaudhry and his lawyers opposed it. A case has been registered against Fawad Chaudhry for threatening the Election Commission.

Earlier, Fawad Chaudhry was medically examined by the doctors of PIM’s Cardiac Center. According to sources, the doctors declared Fawad Chaudhry healthy.

Earlier, a hearing was held in the Lahore High Court on the petition filed against the arrest of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry.

The Supreme Court declared that the FIR against Fawad Chaudhry was registered in Islamabad, therefore the Islamabad High Court has the authority to dismiss the FIR.

The Lahore High Court rejected Fawad Chaudhry’s petition for reinstatement.

It may be noted that Fawad Chaudhry was arrested from his house in Lahore early on Wednesday, after which he was remanded by a lower court.
