YS Sharmila leveled allegations of corruption
The YSRTP chief further said that the cost of this project has been increased from Rs 38,500 crore to Rs 1,20 crore, but yesterday the BRS minister claimed that only 1.5 lakh hectares of land has been irrigated. He said this clearly shows that Kaleshwaram is the biggest flop show. He accused the KCR government of filling the pockets of contractors and family.

The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project is a multipurpose irrigation project on the Godavari River in Telangana. This project was built with the objective of irrigating 18.26 lakh hectares of land in 13 districts. Apart from this, its purpose was to provide drinking water to Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Kaleshwaram Lift Project built on Godavari River is the largest lift irrigation project in the country.

This project started in 2016. It was completed in 2019. According to the Telangana government website, the project aims to produce a total of 240 thousand million cubic feet (TMC).
