Shimoga, September 23- The father of Maz, a suspected militant who was arrested by the city police, died today of a heart attack in a private hospital in Mangalore.
Muneer Ahmed, who was depressed after his son’s arrest, was admitted to a private hospital this evening due to chest pain. But he died without treatment. Shimoga police will take Maz to Mangaluru tonight.
Muneer, who was very concerned about Maz, shifted from Theerthahalli to Mangalore for his education. He had also filed a habeas corpus petition claiming that his son had been missing since September 14. He filed an application in the High Court that the person who went to take the parcel from the house has never returned.
Maz’s father was 53 years old and was depressed after his son’s arrest. It is said that he died due to a heart attack. The father of two other detainees, Shariq, had also passed away a month and a half ago.
