Before the murder, Somaiya lived with Dawood’s second cousin and his grandmother. Somaiya’s aunt, who testified in court, said Somaiya’s father Yasin Khan wanted her to go to Pakistan and marry his uncle. Soumaiya was 16 when the marriage was arranged today. She refused the marriage and got the help of the police. Somaiya’s father was furious at this. After this she had come to her grandmother and uncle.

The police informed the court that during investigation it was found that Mohammad Tarus Khan, Somaiya’s uncle, had searched the internet for the whereabouts of the body in a rubber bag. He was arrested based on CCTV footage and eyewitness statements. According to the information provided to the court, the planning of Somaiya’s murder was going on way back. In the same episode, Tarus Khan made the keys to his three-bedroom house disappear before he was murdered on June 25, 2022. Based on the evidence presented in court, Mohammad Tarus Khan was found guilty of murder.
