Samantha-starrer Yashoda’s release may be postponed; why over here
South star Samantha Ruth Prabhu will soon be seen in her upcoming film Yashoda, which is slated to release on August 12 this year. However, there have been reports that the women-centric drama is likely to be postponed.
It is known that the project is in the post-production stage and is taking longer than expected, and hence, the release may get delayed. However, official confirmation regarding this is still awaited.
Helmed by the director duo Hari and Harish, the film is being produced by Shivalenka Krishna Prasad under the banner of Sridevi Movies. Yashoda has been shot entirely in Telugu and will be dubbed in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages. Apart from Samantha, the multilingual project also stars Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Rao Ramesh, Unni Mukundan and Murali Sharma in pivotal roles.
The music of the All India film is given by Manisharma. M. Sukumar, who has worked in Tamil films like Maina, Kunki, Geetu and Telugu films like Chilasau, Republic, has provided cinematography for the film.
The actress was last seen in the Tamil period rom-com Kathu Vakula Rendu Kaadhal, a Vignesh Shivan directorial. Coming to her professional front, Samantha currently has a few projects lined up for release. Earlier, in August this year, he completed the shooting of director Gunasekhar’s upcoming directorial venture Shakuntalam.
Samantha became a nationally acclaimed actress with her performance in the Family Man 2 web series. The critics including the audience were pleasantly surprised by Samantha’s performance in the dark comedy-drama.
Yashoda film has been made with a concept that is less suited to Samantha’s craze and the potential that Samantha currently possesses.
