Relief fund for those injured in an accident at a stone quarry in Nellai

The Chief Minister has announced to provide consolation and relief assistance to those injured in the Nellai mine accident.

The Chief Minister has issued an order to provide relief assistance of ₹ 1 lakh to each person injured in the Adimithippanakulam mine accident in Nellai district. Two people have been rescued from the spot, while the fire brigade is engaged in rescuing four people. He also said that the National Disaster Management Force has left for Nellai to assist in the rescue operation. Stalin said.

Six people (Murugan, Vijay, Selvam, Murugan, Rajendran, Selvakumar) were trapped in a 300-foot ditch when a huge rock fell on a stone quarry near Ponnakudi in Tirunelveli district. Two of them (Murugan, Vijay) have been rescued and admitted to a government hospital for treatment. Rescue operation is on to rescue the remaining four.

More than 20 firefighters were called to the accident site and rescue work is on. The mine rescue operation is grappling with various problems as the helicopter could not land in the windy area at a depth of 300 feet. Despite several struggles, both have recovered and are undergoing treatment. It is noteworthy that rescue work is going on for all the four.

According to a statement issued by Chief Minister MK Stalin, Rs. 1 lakh relief assistance has been announced.
