ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 13th Mar, 2023 ) : Federal Minister for Health Abdul Qadir Patel on Monday reiterated the government’s determination to eradicate polio from the country and urged parents to cooperate with polio workers during the campaign.
“The aim of starting the polio campaigns was to protect children through vaccination and boost their immunity,” he said while talking to a private news channel.
He said 21 million children under the age of five would be vaccinated during the polio drive that began today.
He said that polio workers are our national heroes who played a key role in the fight against this virus.
He also asked Islamic scholars, media and civil society to actively participate in eradicating polio from our country.
The anti-polio campaign would provide the necessary awareness to the citizens, he added.
