Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif United States President Joe Biden and his wife met on Friday at a reception hosted by the US leader for world leaders attending the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
PM Shahbaz is currently in New York to attend the 77th session of the UNGA, the first in-person session since 2019 after which all meetings were made virtual due to the pandemic. He is scheduled to address the UNGA today around 12 noon (US local time), which can be streamed live on the official UN website in Pakistan at 9 pm.

During the meeting, the Premier appreciated the flood relief efforts by the US and the continued COVID-19 vaccine assistance and cooperation between the two countries.

PM to narrate ‘story of pain and pain’ of Pakistan at UNGA
Foreign Office spokesperson Asim Iftikhar said in a statement that in his address to the UN General Assembly, the prime minister’s focus will be on the challenge facing Pakistan in the wake of the recent climate-induced devastating floods in the country.
PM Shahbaz will outline concrete proposals to collectively tackle the existential threat posed by climate change. He will also share Pakistan’s position and perspective on regional and global issues of concern, including Jammu and Kashmir, which is one of the long-resolved disputes on the UN agenda.
FO spokesperson shared that PM Shahbaz will participate in high level debates at UNGA from 19th to 23rd September.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, other cabinet members and senior officials. He has been interacting with world leaders and has been involved in other interactions with the media and various organisations.
