Over eight units of armored personnel carriers (APC) were officially provided to Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu districts in an effort to combat the growing terrorism and unrest. The following step came after the initiative of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Commissioner Akhtar Hayat Khan.

It is very clear that the requirement of modern bulletproof vehicles is needed to better and better deal with the growing threat of terrorism and protect the lives of police officers in the southern districts. There had been cases of kidney attacks and policemen risked their lives to quell them.

In a meeting with media representatives every day, they have reiterated their commitment to supply the armored vehicles (APC) to the following districts as soon as possible.

It can also be mentioned that the police chief said in his statement that everything is in place to ensure peace and order in the southern districts as well as to ensure efficient law enforcement. Furthermore, the IGP added that police officers in these districts had made great sacrifices in the performance of their duties and police officers there have the right to do all they can to ensure law enforcement there.
