The Boston Police Department said a bomb threat was issued at Northeastern University on Thursday night.
Campus police at Northeastern said emergency personnel were responding to the situation at the Curry Student Center. Officials are asking people to avoid the area of that facility and the Snail Quad.
A shelter-in-place order was initially enforced, but the Northeast University Police Department later said it was lifted. The department made it very clear in the early hours of Friday saying that the emergency is over.
The Boston Police Department said its bomb squad responded to the call at around 10:40 p.m. after investigators were sweeping.
Just nine days after the incident, officials said a package exploded on the premises, prompting a huge police response. A man with minor injuries was taken to the hospital after that incident. The man has since become the subject of an investigation after sources told NBC 10 Boston that it was being investigated as a possible hoax.
