Central Home Minister Amit Shah said that Maoists have been wiped out from Buddha Pahad in Jharkhand. He termed the incident as a historic achievement for the country’s internal security. The Maoist-Naxalites dominated Buddha Hill and its surrounding areas for more than 30 years. Maoists have been uprooted from this area under Operation Octopus. Under the leadership of PM Modi, the security forces have achieved unprecedented success in wiping out left-wing extremists. He congratulated the CRPF as well as security forces and police forces of three states for this. The security forces killed or maimed top Naxalite commanders Arvind Singh alias Dev Kumar, Sudhakaran, Mithilesh Mahto, Vivek Arya as well as prominent Naxalites like Pramod Mishra and Vimal Yadav. A massive campaign was launched by the police of Jharkhand, Telangana and Chhattisgarh to wipe out the Naxalites. Permanent camps of security forces have been set up for the first time after the Maoists have been driven out in the inaccessible areas of Buddha Pahar, Chakrabandh and Bhimbandh.
