A five-year-old boy fell into a borehole in a village in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district on Monday evening. Efforts are being made to save him. The officers provided this information. He said a team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) along with police officers and district administration personnel are conducting an operation to retrieve the child from the borehole at Kopardi village under Karjat tehsil, about 125 km from Pune city.

According to NDRF officials, the boy had fallen into the borehole around 4 pm on Monday. He said the child was trapped at a depth of 15 feet. Rescue operations are ongoing and an ambulance and other medical aid have been prepared on site. Police said that the child who fell in the borehole is the son of a sugarcane worker, may have fallen into the closed borehole while playing.
