Railway Board, Central Railway and RVNL are involved in this railway factory. RVNL is responsible for setting up the railway factory. After the factory starts its maintenance will be done by Central Railway. The Railway Board will take a decision on when to start production from the railway factory.
The process of transfer of railway factory to Central Railway is in final stage. The process will be completed after signing some documents related to the transfer. Meanwhile, Latur Railway Factory is going to be the production department of the railway. Due to this, it is the decision of the Railway Board as to when this production section will be made operational. The railway board has the freedom to take this decision in how many months, said a senior official of the Central Railway.
On 25 December 2020, the railway administration informed that the construction of the coach shell was successful from the Marathwada railway factory. While this is the case, the question why the production did not start from this factory even in August 2022 is being raised on this occasion. As the decision is pending with the Railway Board, no official from Central Railway or RVNL is ready to give an official comment on the matter.
