Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday arrested a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist in Baramulla, a day after arresting a terrorist. The police, along with 29 Rashtriya Rifles and 2nd Battalion Sashstra Seemabal, stopped a man at a check post set up in Singhpurapattan, based on a specific tip-off.

When he saw the joint party, he tried to flee the scene but was arrested, a police spokesman said. The spokesman said that during the search, incriminating material, ammunition including 47 rounds of 71 AKs were recovered from his possession. Police have identified the terrorist as Ali Mohammad Butt, a resident of Bonichkal Arampura Pattan.

A police spokesman said that the initial investigation revealed that he was working as a terrorist in the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. The spokesman further said that as per the relevant provisions of the law, a case has been registered at the Patan police station and an investigation has been initiated.

On Tuesday, the police arrested an active terrorist from the same group who planned to carry out targeted attacks in North Kashmir.
