Civil society, various NGOs representing women and transgender community had applied for permission to organize Aurat March in Lahore on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which has been rejected by Lahore Deputy Commissioner.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rafia Haider requested the control of the Aurat procession due to security concerns, controversial placards and slogans in the procession and clashes with participants of the Haya procession on Mall Road by Jamaat-e-Islami women on the same day. Denied.

However, the Aurat March organizing committee has decided to march near Nasir Bagh Lahore on March 8. The organizers say that the Aurat March is their constitutional right and they will not deviate from it. They will also announce their action plan. at the conference.
