Srinagar, March 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) on Tuesday postponed till further “reminders” the Computer Based Written Tests (CBT) scheduled to begin on March 16.
“Computer based examinations for various posts scheduled from 16.03.2023 to 05.04.2023 are postponed till further information,” JKSSB said in a tweet.
The announcement comes in the wake of an ongoing protest by applicants against hiring a previously blacklisted company.
Earlier, JKSSB had said that all arrangements have been put in place to ensure fair and transparent examination.
“CBT shall be conducted under CCTV surveillance to maintain transparency in the examination. Besides, low-frequency sounders are being installed in all inspection centers to prevent the use of unfair methods, including cheating by using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled electronic devices,” said an official spokesperson.
A third party has been engaged to audit the examination process of CBTs conducted by the JKSSB to ensure an examination free from any malpractice, he said.
“The relevant magistrates will issue a prohibition order under Section 144 of the General Penal Code on examination centers during the examination, but a multi-layered structure has also been established for supervision with one center inspector and central manager for each examination center according to the relevant district administration,” said the spokesman.
