Hyderabad, September 23 (Andhra Jyoti): Allegations of rigging in the tenders for the purchase of KCR Nutrient Kits are rife. It is being alleged that the elders of the government have framed the rules as part of the pre-planning to ensure that the tender is awarded to the people they want. In this, political leaders, officials and contractors have colluded with severe criticism. To this extent, it seems that a social organization has filed a complaint with the central investigation agencies, saying that a huge scandal has been opened in connection with this scheme, which is worth Rs.1200 crores. It is reported that clear evidence has also been given to the investigating agencies. In some districts of the state, pregnant women and children are suffering from malnutrition and anemia. This is also evident in the National Health Family Survey. In this background, the government has sent top female IAS officers to various states for study. The team studied in various states including Tamil Nadu and gave a report to the government. Nutrient kit is recommended for pregnant women suffering from anemia. To that extent, the government has decided to give these kits to 2.5 lakh pregnant women in the first nine districts.

The responsibilities have been assigned to the State Health and Family Welfare Commissioner. The Commissioner has written to Telangana State Medical Infrastructure Development Corporation (TSMCIDC) for procurement of kits. What should be in the kits? What are the tender terms? These are clarified in the letter. It is at this time that there are allegations that some well-known people entered the field and changed the tender rules in their favor and turned the wheel to make the rules in favor of a single company. For KCR Nutrient Kit, the condition that the supplier of nutrient powder should have been in the market for 15 years and should have a share of 35 percent in the total market has been placed in the tender. In terms of how much nutritional value should be in each 100 grams of nutrient powder, changes were made in the tender rules in favor of that one company. As a result, critics say that the company they thought would get the opportunity to supply the nutrient powder. A few days ago, many suppliers appealed to Commissioner Shweta Mahanthi to change the terms of the tender. However, due to pressure from the elders, the rule remained. Didn’t change it.

According to the tender rules, only one company is eligible in the country. Even that one company has given authorization letter for distribution to only four companies. In fact, despite the fact that the said company has distributors and dealers across the country, all other suppliers are strongly opposed to giving authorization to those four companies. Meanwhile… only suppliers with the relevant authorization are eligible to participate in the KCR Nutrients Kits tender. The rest are least likely to participate. Meanwhile, the distributors of these four companies are supplying similar nutrient kits in Tamil Nadu under the auspices of the government. Annamalai, the state president of the BJP in Tamil Nadu, has complained several times to the state government about those distributors. The complaint went viral on social media. A social organization in its complaint has asked for a full investigation into the whole matter.
