The number of deaths due to Corona has increased to 5,26,649 in the country.
Active infections account for 0.31 percent of total infections. The recovery rate from COVID-19 infection is now 98.50 percent. The Ministry of Health reported a decrease of 571 active COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate is 4.96 percent. The weekly positivity rate is 4.63 percent. The number of recoveries rose to 4,34,65,552, while the death rate was 1.19 percent. Of these 49 new deaths, five each from Maharashtra and West Bengal, three from Chhattisgarh, two each from Delhi, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Tripura and Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, One each from Haryana, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya.
Of the 5,26,649 deaths so far, 1,48,129 are from Maharashtra, 70,548 from Kerala, 40,155 from Karnataka, 38,033 from Tamil Nadu, 26,327 from Delhi, 23,574 from Uttar Pradesh and 21,389 residents of West Bengal.

More than 70 percent of deaths are due to comorbidities, according to the Ministry of Health. According to the ministry, 205.92 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign drive. India’s number of Covid-19 infections crossed 20 lakh on 7 August 2020, 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September. On 28 September 60 lakh, 70 lakh on 11 October, 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and 1 crore on 19 December. On June 23 last year, three crore infections and on January 25 this year, four crore infections have occurred.
