Environment Ministry’s job more than regulator to promote environment: PM

We have set a target of net zero by 2070. Green Grow is also Halal Growth. Then the environment ministry of each state has a very big role to achieve each goal. Over time people came to think that the role of the Ministry of Environment was more of a regulator. But I understand that the job of the Ministry of Environment is to promote the environment more than a regulator. The Ministry of Environment has a big role to play in every work that protects the environment. Indian culture, on the other hand, has always been a nurturer of nature, not a sucker.

The Prime Minister gave an example of the time when the Sabarmati River was full of water in Ahmedabad and Gandhiji lived in the Sabarmati Ashram and said that despite the abundance of water in the Sabarmati River, if Gandhiji saw someone wasting water, he would not stop him. Along with this, the Prime Minister asked the Environment Ministries to give maximum promotion to the circular economy. The Environment Ministries have also been asked to go ahead with the bio fuel policy of the country.

The Ministry of Environment can also give direction to other Ministries. For example, the importance of drip irrigation system in association with the Ministry of Agriculture. Ministry of Education and Ministry of Environment should also work together. For example, if the students are to be educated about trees in school, take them to the garden, take them to the trees outside the village and introduce them to the trees and flowers. This will create environmental awareness among children.
