A case was registered on Monday against former prime minister Imran Khan and 150 PTI workers for threatening the police with dire consequences while law enforcement officials are trying to arrest the former prime minister in Lahore. Ahh news reported.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the case was registered on the complaint of SHO Police Station, Islamabad Nadeem Tahir.
The FIR text also states that police officers were tortured by PTI leaders and workers and interfered with government operations.
On Sunday, the Islamabad police team came to Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park to arrest him for evading proceedings in the Toshakhana case.
The Islamabad police said in a statement that when Imran was not found at his home in Lahore. They served warrants for his arrest to ensure that he would be brought to justice.
Meanwhile, Imran’s chief of staff Shibli Faraz claimed that the former prime minister was not at Zaman Park.
Later, addressing PTI supporters at his residence, Imran claimed that his life was in danger and added that his lawyers will write a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial regarding dozens of fake cases against him.
Addressing party workers outside his residence in Lahore after the police left, the former prime minister said he had never “bowed down to any person or institution and will never allow you to do so too”.
The PTI chief said he called the party workers to Zaman Park to honor them for the way they participated in the “jail Bharo Tehreek”.
