Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Muhammad Talal Chaudhry has said that Imran Khan is a disgrace to politics as he is a cowardly person and hides behind party workers, especially women.
Addressing a press conference at his residence on Saturday, he said that Pakistani politicians were brave as they faced all difficulties including trials, jails and even death chambers but they did not use their party workers or women to save their skins.
Nawaz Sharif also bravely faced trial and never used workers to save himself. On the other hand, Imran Khan was using all ugly methods to save himself from the law. If he did nothing wrong, he should appear in court and prove himself guilty rather that he was trying to hide behind his wife, party workers, leg injury or other ailments, Talal added.
He further said that neither Imran Khan is a leader, nor his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is a true political party as it has adopted the path of violence against state institutions.
When the police went to Zaman Park to comply with the court orders, PTI workers not only resisted but also pelted stones and hurled petrol bombs at the police, he added.
He said that during Imran’s time, Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) was banned only because TLP had adopted a violent stance against government institutions.
Now the same attitude was adopted by PTI which deserved the same treatment given to TLP, he added.
Talal Ch further said that the police search operation was launched only to arrest those involved in hurling petrol bombs at the police as well as to remove encroachment because it was made a “no-go zone” for the public by PTI workers.
Responding to a query, he said the PML-N has started the election process and appointed its parliamentary board besides completing its survey for this purpose. “It is ready for elections but a level playing field is necessary for all politicians,” he added.
He said PML-N was not afraid of any election but wanted equal justice for all before elections, as balance was a prerequisite for free and fair elections.
He answered yet another query and said that Imran Khan is a corrupt person. He was forced on the nation by his aides but now they had withdrawn their support because Imran was afraid to face the courts.
If investigated, he would be involved in looting the national wealth as well as valuables from Toshakhana, he added.
