Hyderabad leader arrested for threatening PM Modi, Amit Shah; Section 144 implemented in the limits of Cyberabad

New Delhi: A leader of a small party in Hyderabad was arrested by the Mughalpura police in Hyderabad on Wednesday for threatening to behead Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The arrest comes days before the BJP’s national executive meeting in Hyderabad on July 2 and 3. PM Modi, Amit Shah will attend the meeting.

According to media reports, Abdul Majeed Attar is the leader of a small party. Attar was demanding an apology for the statement made by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for her remarks on the prophet.

Apart from PM Modi and Shah, he had spoken of harming Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for not apologizing for his remarks on the Prophet.

The accused had posted posters of PM Modi and Yogi on Facebook demanding that top RSS and BJP leaders be ready to apologize or beheaded for their remarks on the Prophet.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner imposed Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code in Cyberabad Commissionerate on Wednesday ahead of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s National Executive meeting.

Cyberabad CP Stephen Ravindra on Wednesday issued prohibitory orders against gathering of more than five people to prevent riot or riot and maintain public peace. The orders will be effective from July 1 to 7, 2022.

Earlier, the police had issued orders prohibiting flying of drones or any kind of flying machines above a radius of 5 kms at Hyderabad International Convention Center (HICC) at Hyderabad International Convention Center (HICC). This order is in force from 6 am on June 30 to 6 pm on July 4.

BJP national president JP Nadda is likely to hold a roadshow in Telangana and inaugurate an exhibition over the course of two days. Prime Minister Modi is likely to reach Hyderabad on July 2 and is likely to address the meeting on both the days.

This case has come to the fore at a time when two people brutally murdered a tailor in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The police have registered a case against the accused under IPC sections for inciting religious feelings and causing disturbance.

After the meeting, PM Modi can also address a public meeting in Secunderabad. Recently, protesters created a ruckus in Secunderabad against the Agneepath scheme.
