Punjab police are working to arrest Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh. The Punjab Police has declared him a Proclaimed Offender. Police have also arrested Amritpal’s financier and adviser. Four close aides of Amritpal arrested by the police have been flown to Dibrugarh in Assam in a special plane. He will be kept in the Central Prison here. A total of 78 members of the Waris de Punjab gang have been arrested in the operation launched by the Punjab Police since Saturday (March 18, 2023).
According to media reports, a heavy force has been deployed at Amritpal Singh’s house in Amritsar. The name of the village in Amritpal is Jallupur Kheda. With this, security has been tightened throughout the state. Along with this, continuous attacks are being carried out on the hideouts of all Khalistani supporters across the state. In this raid, Amritpal’s financier Sarabjit Singh Kalsi and adviser Daljit Singh Kalsi were also arrested. Two of Amritpal’s cars have been seized and his gunman has been arrested.
On the other hand, 4 very special associates of Amritpal who were arrested have been flown to Dibrugarh in Assam in a special air force plane. He will be lodged in Dibrugarh Jail. The four accused are accompanied by a 27-member team of the Punjab Police under the command of IG Jail Punjab. Meanwhile, a total of 78 accused have been arrested across Punjab so far. All of them are associated with an extremist organization called ‘Waris De’ Punjab and are said to be close to Amritpal.
Internet services have been suspended in several districts of the state till 20. The action of the Punjab Police has been confirmed by Jalandhar Superintendent of Police, IPS Kuldeep Singh Chahal. He said that one 315-bore rifle, 7 12-bore rifles, 1 revolver and 373 spent cartridges have been recovered so far in raids conducted across Punjab. Police have asked not to spread any rumor or believe it.
