Two days back in the night, an elephant had gone to the field in search of food in Nallampatti village near Balakode in Dharmapuri district. At that time, lightning struck a lamp wire in a paddy field and killed the Magna Hathi (male elephant without horns). The Balakot Forest Department reached the spot and conducted the post-mortem of the dead body and buried the elephant’s body.
