European stock markets open lower – Markets IV News

LONDON: European stock markets retreated at the start of trading on Wednesday as volatility gripped stocks amid renewed turmoil in the banking sector.

London’s benchmark FTSE 100 fell 0.4 percent to 7,607.83 points, after jumping in the previous session ahead of Wednesday’s UK budget.

European stocks have their biggest one-day gains

In the euro zone, Frankfurt’s DAX index fell 0.3 percent to 15,183.93 points and the Paris CAC 40 fell 0.5 percent to 7,104.55.
