KUWAIT CITY: Children of Kuwaiti residents recently born abroad have been unable to come to Kuwait, leaving 400 families in dire straits.
According to Kuwait News, dozens of migrants are facing a severe humanitarian crisis, largely due to their inability to bring their newborns to Kuwait because they were recently born while the mothers were on summer vacation.
This is happening because the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a decision to ban the issuance of all types of visas, including family dependent and visit visas, until further notice.
The parents, in an interview with a local Arabic daily, requested the Ministry of Interior to exempt the newborns from its decision, keeping in mind the humanitarian aspect.
Around 400 cases, mostly of school teachers, have been submitted to the competent department with a request to exclude newborns from the decision.
Dozens of migrants called on the Ministry of Interior to look into a humanitarian issue that concerns them and is troubling them regarding their newborn children born abroad.
They say that their said children were born during the summer holidays in their home countries and this is in line with the new procedure for the competent authorities in Kuwait which is currently in force which allows such mothers Or the father being forced to quit his job and live with the newborn outside of Kuwait.
Immigrants say they want to make their voice known to the competent authorities, to have their newborn children exempted from entry into the country, and to have their situation treated with compassion and humanity in light of the threat to their family life. do
