Multan: Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has decided to contest the Punjab Assembly elections. Sources say that in case of victory, Shah Mahmood Qureshi could be a candidate for the post of Chief Minister but the final decision will be taken by Imran Khan.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s son Zain Qureshi has filed his father’s nomination papers from PP 217 Multan for the Punjab Assembly general elections to be held on April 30. PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi lost to Salman Naeem from the same constituency in 2018.
Yesterday, the Election Commission had released the date for submission of nomination papers for the Punjab assembly elections. Nominations can be submitted on March 13 and 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nominations will be reviewed on March 22.
The final candidate list will be published on April 5, while voting tokens will be issued to candidates on April 6. The Election Commission has also released a list of posts of all Election Commissioners in Punjab.
