MULTAN – Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) South Punjab, Sahibzada Shahzad Sultan, has directed police officers to launch a comprehensive operation against wheat smuggling and hoarding in the region.
In an order issued here on Sunday, he said the wheat smuggling and hopping was an offense and it would be dealt with according to law. He said the wheat smuggling and smuggling could create a crisis in the country, adding that poor people would be affected by wheat smuggling and smuggling.
The IGP added that it is the prime duty of the police and other law enforcement agencies to launch a comprehensive crackdown against any illegal activities.
He directed the concerned officers to cooperate with the district administration and the food department in controlling wheat smuggling and also asked for help from a special branch for the purpose.

Multan Division Managing Director Ashfaq Ahmad Chaudhary said that the private sector played a great role in providing complete facilities in South Punjab.
He expressed these views in a meeting with renowned industrialist Mian Faisal Mukhtar who called on him here on Sunday. He further said that the private sector is very important in economic development.
The government and the private sector worked together to solve the country’s problems and create job opportunities. The main objective was to provide a quality lifestyle to people, Ashfaq Ahmad added. Mian Faisal Mukhtar said that Mukhtar A Sheikh Hospital is equipped with latest facilities and is providing treatment facilities to the citizens of the city.
He said that special departments of infection control and air quality control had been established in the hospital and it was providing 24-hour world-class services to patients. Collection centers have also been set up in various parts of the city for the hospital’s laboratory.
